Good writeup. But if you really want to upgrade, the headlights are a MAJOR factor. Look for projectors or something that will address wattage instead of wiring.

they used to make a heavy duty harness for the H6054 bulbs, which is what i got. Although it looks like they dont anymore, the next best one is for H4 bulbs
(http://www.eautoworks.com/Putco-H4--...t-PRD7540.aspx) which is fine if you have changed to new H4 housings and bulbs, there is a significant improvement in volts and light output, i bet you could simply splice in the correct plugs for the stock bulbs using the kit above.

X2 on Eautoworks...

The H4 High Intensity headlamp harness/kit comes complete with correct guage wiring, properly rated relays and mounting hardware for only $20 (give or take a couple for tax/shipping). It's an easy and neat installation which is practically invisible when thoughtfully installed (routing parallel to factory cables, restrained with ty-wraps and wire covers). Why are you looking for more relays and how come it's "scattered everywhere"?

Because those headlight housings aren't worth the plastic they're made of. Sorry to tell you.

I run autopal h4 e-code headlights in my jeep and love them, even with just the stock harness they were a great upgrade.

I later added the eaautoworks harness. I didn't notice much difference with it though.

yes you can run those lights with out the upgraded harness as long as you use stock wattage bulbs.
