Went out on my '99 XJ yesterday, looking to change it today and everywhere I call they are $45 and up. WTF, these things used to be $20. Anyone know where to get them for a descent price?

 

Yeah that's about what you're going to pay for a quality one from the dealer. You would be able to get it for cheaper at a parts store but there is a fairly good chance that it won't work properly.

 

I got my BWD oil pressure unit from the local advance auto and it works perfectly fine. $25.

 

When I replaced mine, I first tried one from Autozone, didn't work right. I then bought one online from rockauto.com (don't remember the brand), also didn't work right. Finally bought one from the dealer and it works well. You may get lucky and get one that works fine from a parts store but I personally wouldn't chance that again.

 

So far so good. Bought one from autozone after we haggled them down to $35. I just couldn't believe they were $40-45.

 

Mine was about $30 at NAPA. No problems yet.
