Hey everyone i was wondering what the biggest off roading tires i could put on a stock suspension on a 1993 cherokee. Please help thank you so much

Tire size has nothing to do with suspension.

Figure any tire much over 30" and you will need to trim and bump stop.

Over 35" and add gears, axles, steering also.

okay thank you. i dont have the money for a lift right now so i was gonna get some good tires but i didnt want them to touch the wheel well unless i can shave it but im not sure how to do that

33's are probably the largest you can go without too much headache.

Since you are stock height, no lift. 32's 33's would help get the jeep off the ground.

You will need to extend your bump stops front and rear. Trim the front and rear edges of the rear fender wells. And raise your front fender flares and inch. Not very hard to do. And does not cost anything.

use stock back spacing with 10.5in tires or narrower. Either get grand cherokee lower control arms or put up with your tires rubbing your control arms. Or you can extend your steering stops. After market Lower control arms should work also, but cost a hundred bucks or a little more. Grand cherokee ones can be bought off of ebay for 50 bucks. My 33 10.5's do not rub with the grand cherokee lower control arms.

For 120 bucks you can put a 3in lift on your jeep. Just saying. But you will still have to do everything listed.

The front fenders are as easy as can be, the rear has a pinch seam, so you can only cut so far, but there's plenty of write ups on how to do the cut and fold if you do want more room. If your bump stops (as mentioned) aren't long enough that will allow over stuffing. If your sway bars are disco'd then you'll stuff way easier. Get at least a 2" budget boost (also mentioned, I think..) they are pretty cheap and will really help prevent messing up your new tires.

i was gonna put a lift on it one day but i need to fix my brakes first because my brake line is all rusted out my brother found me 275/75/R15's. Do you think they will work without giving me any scrapping?

I think that's like a 32 inch tire. You'll prolly get a bit of rubbing without modification. Imo 30s are good if you don't wanna cut anything yet.

Well that measures out to just over a 31x10.50 so yeah, they'll fit, but they'll run your LCA's, hit the fenders on small stuff and if your rear springs are sagging at all then have fun with that.

okay thank you. so a 30 would be like a 265/75/r15?

30x9.50 look funny on a 3"+ lift .

FWIW, I've been running 235/75-15 Treadwright Crawlers. On stock wheels, with no trimming, they fit fine. Once I switched to 15x8 wheels with 3.75" backspacing, I had to start trimming with no swaybars. So on a stock height XJ, with little to no trimming, I'd go with a 235/75-15 at the biggest. If you're willing to trim and bumpstop it, you can definitely go bigger though. I'm going with some 33x9.5's on mine now with a 1.5" lift, trimming, and extending bumpstops.

i'll check the englishtown swap meet tomorrow for some 235/75/R15's tomorrow but im not sure if they'll have any so thats why i was gonna go bigger because i want to get my jeep a litter higher so i have more ground clearance in the trails without a lift for another couple of weeks
