So I found a guy who has a oem swing out tire carrier in good shape for 50$ only thing is its missing the locking part that attatchs to the hatch, think I should go pick if up? Think I could make something for it to work? Anyone attach one to 97+

 

i would say yes, because i know that they are extremely rare, and i think catch big money

 

If you plan on mounting anything larger than a 31 to it skip it cause it won't hold it. Haven't seen one that latches to the hatch, most latch to the bumper and you need the bumper as well.
