Is there a differance in the cases from a 5 speed or automatic or are they the same

I put a 96 auto 231 into my 96 5 speed and it bolted up and works perfect

they do have 21 spline and 23 spline 231 tcases tho. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np231.htm

Correct but all you have to do is count the splines as long as they are the same it will work at least that's how I did mine

Got it all put in today...but my speedometer plug is differant on the new case..mine has 3wires the new one has two and mine wont interchange with it

You should be able to use your old speedo sensor with the new case it should read right as long as you have the right gear on your speedo sensor

I put mine in the new tcase and it doesnt even spin the speedo gear

Then you prob have a different ratio. Did you just have a stock case before or did you have a sye or anything in it?

Did you use your old short shaft because if you didn't then the speedo gears probably aren't the sMe when I did mine I took the sye off the new case and swapped it out with mine so everything matched up
