i was doing a little research for reduction of transfer case low gears and i came across the teraflex kit. it's about 1100 bucks, which is not a horrible deal, but i wanted to see if anybody had a better alternative.

I can put them on my site, but they are so darn expensive I doubt I'd ever sell one.

I've installed a few and they so work well.

An NP241OR (Rock-Trac) case from a rubicon is darn near a bolt-in. Two problems though.
1.) Watch out for cases with stretched chains.
2.) Can cost as much, if not more, than a TeraLo 4:1

The 241OR? Yep, people think those t-case's are made out of gold.

I've seen them go for $850 (torn down and in need of new parts ) to $1800 (rebuilt) on Craigslist.

i guess i'll start building back the funds. this is no emergency, but on the build list. wonder if spending $2300 on an atlas 5:1 independent front and rear is a better idea.
