yeah that "shock" looks like a cylinder, and why cause you would have to control it over every obstacle... and it would be super stiff...

I thinking(don't clap) in the last pic it went up a ramp till it was laying on the passenger tire and then the ramp was removed.

he is using hydraulic rams in that last pic. i have seen other rigs with a similar setup. if you know how and when to use them, they work great.
