No start at "P" !!

Question No start at "P" !!

my Jeep does not start at "P", so I put it to "N" to start. Last time the elect. said that he cleaned a switch at the bottom of the gear lever ... I could not find that switch, could you please help me?

i had the same problem...NSS (neutral safety switch) needed cleaned.... link shows you how to clean and or rebuild the NSS....

X2. Thats your problem. Follow the instructions on how to clean it. Whole project is free and take about an hour.

Is it possible to replace any part in it? or I've to replace it as a unit?

I doubt if you'll find parts for it.. If you take it apart, you'll probably see the parts inside are fine. The problem is the factory grease inside hardens over time and the contacts don't make contact. The part is available, but if nothing's broken inside a simple cleaning will fix it.
