As everyone knows, RC 4.5" springs provide a horrible shackle angle. I'm about done with the rough ride and plan to install boomerang shackles to help with ride quality.
I'm assuming because of clearance issues, no one makes a "no-lift" boomerang shackle, but I thought I'd ask before purchasing. Most manufactures seem to be at .75"-1" of lift. What boomerang shackles are you guys running? And do they really help with ride quality?
The reason I don't want the rear lifted anymore is my rear CV drive shaft angle is barely in spec and I REALLY don't want to re shim the rear axle.
Thanks in advance for the input. I want to get some shackles on the way today!

I think you need to read up on this a little more and think about how a leaf spring suspension actually works. A boomerang shackle will not improve your ride quality at all. What you need to look into are shackle relocation brackets.

From what I've read boomerang shackles help short leafs clear the shackle box and provide a better ride because the angle of the shackle is no longer straight up and down. My angle now is very close to 90*. Shackle relocation is not an option for me.I'd rather buy new leafs before those

Boomerang shackles do not change the angle. As stated they are for clearance issues and I have seen them listed for front suspensions to keep the shackle from flipping. If you look at a boomerang shackle the holes are still in line with each other. No-lift relo boxes are what you want and seriously not a big deal to install.

The boomerang shackle won't change your shackle angle. This is the location of the shackle hanger bolt to the spring bushing bolt. The boomerang shackle just has a bend in it, but the relation between these two pivots will be the same. Just think about how a leaf springs works as it cycles for a minute. Boomerang shackles are normally used to clear the frame or shackle hanger and aren't necessary too often for xjs. What you need to do is either move the spring hanger bolt forward (shackle relocation brackets) or move the spring bushing bolt back (longer springs) although I've never heard of a company that makes them. Why are shackle relocation brackets not an option for you?

HD offroad makes some great no lift relocation brackets but before you move forward on any of this I would recommend reading into how a leaf spring suspension works.

I was simply confused on how the boomerang shakcles worked, I have a general knowledge of a leaf spring suspension.
I will look into those companies. Thanks for those who provided me with positive feedback.
