Default no heat

Got air blowing through the vents but it wont heat up. Also low on coolant in the bottle. Refilling it today to check displacement. Could the heating core be clogged? Or do I need a new one? It's a 2000 sport

Start with flushing the heater core with a garden hose

Both ways, and is any interior damp.

No interior is dry and when flushing the hoses how do. I tell inlet hose tfrom the outlet hose? So I know which way to flush
