Default NO DASH LIGHTS

So i tried to install a LED bulb in my 1990 XJ for my light where the shifter is at (its an automatic) and the bulb worked but didnt fit into the small whole. I decided to take the plastic off the bulb so it wuld fit and stuck it in and it instantly blew all my dash lights out along with itself. All the fuses appear to be fine though. What could be my problem???

I suspect a fried ground or other short. You should be using 194-sized LEDs and there shouldn't be a need to modify the light. If there is, it's not the right bulb. A 194-sized LED will work in any application a conventional 194 bulb will.

You will likely get a much better response by posting this in the OEM Cherokee Tech forum. Cherokee Chat is specifically non-tech. You might PM a mod and ask them to move it.

Some LED bulbs have a positive and a negative side, [maybe all, I don't know], maybe you plugged it in the wrong way and caused a short.

Don't know how you can tell which is the correct way to plug it in though.
