When your buddy's XJ gets a coolant leak in the school parking lot, and you fix it there. The PO decided to splice the heater line with a t-fitting which cracked. 2-1/2 feet of heater line fixed it.

In mechanic speak, at least around here, that means "s***, sorry, we broke something and have to cover our tracks." and that is why i do my own work, and 99% of my family and close friends' work when it comes to vehicles

Seriously, my pops is a mechanic and When I had to change my pump out I gave him the jeep in the morning, went to work and got it back end of day no problems at all. Lately a lot of these shops have one experienced guy and the rest do what he says and don't know to much. Its good to see people working but there haas to be a line

When you consider this blasphemy, it's not leaking, it's marking it's territory.

Yeah, it almost seems like they are just giving out the ASE certifications lately...no offense to any mechanics on here though.

same thing with my girl a few years back when we started dating. They did an oil change but never put new oil in. Needless to say its a good thing she turned around after a block when the engine started acting up. And with her current car and oil place they use cheap oil that doesnt even last 3000miles and burns up. Soooo now im putting myself in charge of her oil changes and some good mobil 1 syntec

Ykydaxj when between you and your girlfriend you already have 2 xj's but ya see a 99 sport coming up for auction at the police department and find yourself wanting to free up some cash to try and give it a good home. After all,it's only got 210000 on it. Still got alot of life in it.
