Just had mine welded back on! No pics cause it's the sloppiest weld anyone has ever done.

I'm exaggerating, of course. I didn't weld it, but it ain't pretty. It works, though. Now my door latch hits the striker instead of hitting 1/4" low and sliding up it.

My bud used to do industrial structural welding for oil field equipment. Pretty sure the unibody or the hinge itself will break before this weld.

You know you drive an XJ when...3 foot cheater pipe on 1/4" drive ratchet with a 1/2" socket and a cut in half T60 bit. Name what I was fixing. (Hint-oil filter adapter, the o-ring was practically dust it was so dry rotted)

yeah me and big cheater bars is a bit of a sore subject right now... trying to free up to free up the rear shackle bolt by standing on the cheater bar + me weighing in at 260 lbs = broken weld on framerail nut
