Exclamation New to the XJ game!

hey guys, been creeping around on this site for a while now and have been obssesed with cherokees for way to long. recently got my permit and have been saving/looking for 1998-2001 2dr xjs to start my own build from bone stock.
(parents gave me a 2001 toyota sequoia, and are probably gonna let me trade it and help me out to pay for my jeep a little bit once i find one)

basically what im asking is what are some key things i should take note in looking around for cherokees? mileage, rust areas,... etc. are 2 d00rs gonna be to hard to find? just fill me in on everythin i need to know, and i am 15 so dont be afraid to just tell me how things are.

You don't have to call the man a *****, he was just telling you like it is. Take the advice and show some respect to others. Thank you and good luck with your searching.

You should always do your checks!
My first check was drive the jeep a little. Test steering, brakes, lights etc.
Get back to the place pop the hood check the oil !! Look for a whitish milky like oil if so Then you need a new motor. Or a rebuild. If you have a welder and plan on redoing the inside of your jeep with bedliner then rust holes wont matter to you. It depends if you want to go for a full build or a 4x4 build.
Full build for me would be replacing literally everything!! axles, engine, modifying your jeep body IE making it a pick-up type jeep.
4x4 build is what i am doing. Just lift kit wheels tires roof rack etc etc.
All of of guys on here can you help some are a little more dense then other but you will get help.
Good luck on your jeep search!!
