I get what you are saying, and I'd honestly LOVE to have a 220v gas sheilded welder, but they are expensive and for me quite a bit of work.

If I run into anything my 110v can't handle, I'll just get my buddie with his high-dollar gas sheilded welder to do the work for me.

Again, this is just for the time being. When my fiance and I finally buy a house I'll have more than just a 220v gas welder. I'll also have a 10 ton car hoist, a nice plasma cutter, more air tools than you could ever deem necessary, and plenty of other goodies.

Oh, and tons of experience using a crappy welder so I can genuinely appreciate the good one!

You also have to add the yard length onto the distance as the garage isn't attached, and the yard is between the house and garage. We're on an alley, so the garage faces the opposite direction which makes it worse. I'd either have to run 150ft of cord to the garage, or move the drier plug to the side of the basement the door is on.

Either way, this seems like alot of work for someone renting the place.

We're probably gonna be in a house sooner than later.

But for right now we're living super cheap. Its a 2 bedroom place with livingroom, diningroom, kitchen, 1 bath, whole basement, backyard, 3-4 car driveway and a 1 1/2 car garage for only $350 per month. And thats split between my fiance and myself.

We're just not allowed to spend tons of cash. We've promised each other that we'd save as much as possible for our wedding and our house.

Thank you very much, sir! We've known each other since the 2nd grade, we graduated on 2003. Its been quite awhile, we've always been best friends. It all would've happened sooner but she lived in KS and I'm in WI, I grew up in KS. We dated off and on since we were old enough to really date, finally I told her, "Listen, lady, if you don't just move with me I'm gonna come down there, bump you over the head, and carry you back over my shoulder!" Good thing she agreed. That 700 mile trip would've been tough with an unconcious lady-friend.

We're really thankful for the place we are staying in. Not only is it cheap rent, there is a wood burning stove with a shell around it. There is a blower that pushes air into the shell, then it exits out the top via a heating duct and gets pumped into the heating vents. I can literally shut off the normal furnace all winter and keep a ZERO dollar heat bill. And in WI, thats a savings of about $250 per month. I get about half a dozen pallets per week from my job, and I snag any free logs off CL. Use the pallet wood when I'm awake, drop a big log in just before bed, and there are still embers when I get up. Its a sweet deal!
