Personally, I think it depends on your rims. I'd go with black on black rims, and white on any others.

I always go for white letters on trucks, suv's, and certain cars. I personally think these vehicles look "wrong" without white letter tires. I have white letters on my 90 Cherokee, and my 85 Daytona project car, and my 88 Shelby Z, and they ALL look better with white letters. But again, just my opinion...

on an XJ, white letters are usually best unless you plan on murdering out your rig.

Got to agree. It was all the rage in the 70's to have white letters. I have gone to the trouble of changing a set of tires on the wheel that a bought back to white lettering in.

Mine are black.

I'll just scuff the white off anyways.

So what your saying is white walls out makes you poser? I'm pretty sure every pro rig I've ever seen has whites out... and by saying that something cosmetic changes what you can and can't do with your rig is outragous I have white walls out but I also have black wheels and with my paint being green/black/red with white teeth it pops pretty well.

Saying, if you wheel a lot your white letters will not last very long before they are either rubbed off or so dirty it will take hours to clean them. Sort of like wasting time polishing aluminum rims. I've never seen a pro rig with white lettering. Most tires in the pro sizes do not come with white lettering.
