My bad I should've mentioned the year and model, 2000 XJ Sport. That makes sense though, I had the compressor hooked up to a machine at the mechanics, the pressure was really high until the fan kicked in. The fan keeps burning out relays according to my mechanic, he used some tool to bypass it, got it to run, and then the tool threw some sort of trouble light and the fan wouldn't run after that. Not sure if its a deeper electrical problem. I'll check out Rock Auto tonight and see about getting a new shroud

On the 00s and 01s the fan doesn't come online with AC and run continually like the older models. Than e fan turns on at a specific PSI or coolant temp. Neither which I can remember off the top of my head.

That makes a lot more sense. Doesn't make sense why they'd stop it from coming on as soon as the AC is turned on, just adds more heat.
