Default new roof rack-rage brand

My new roof rack arrived today and I installed it after work.
Rage Powersports: Black Widow Model w/24in extension.
http://www.discountramps.com/roof-rack-basket.htm

The whole rack, extension and shipping ran me about $150.
Its a heck of a lot cheaper than most other racks out there.
I read A LOT of reviews and did some driving today hwy/city and the rack is GREAT so far.

The only complaint I have is that the rack mounts to the cargo rack instead of the rain gutters...I might solve that issue later on.

Im going to and some lights and store my spare up there.

I believe you can mount it on the preexisting rails where the original roof sliders sat.

I've got the same one on gutter mounted crossbars. For the price, I thought it was a good deal. I modded mine by riveting some steel plates across the joints of the center extension piece, which makes it more solid. I noticed with any real load on it, the joints where they connect together seemed a liitle weak to me before I put the plates on. I drilled holes in the center of the plates for carring an axe and shovel for camping trips that are held to it by long bolts with wingnuts. I'd recommend getting the wind fairing for it as it does a good job eliminating the noisy airflow rushing through it at highway speeds.

So all in all expect to pay 200$ if you want the rack, extender, and the wind faring

I know this is a older post but a Roof Rack is next on my list.

How has this been working for you, does it do well with a spare tire on it. Also can someone point me into the direction of one that mounts in the rain gutter. I do like the price of this, but quality is important as well and I'm a firm beliver you get what you pay for.

I think the factory cargo rack bars are kinda week, I moved mine next to each other and put my spare up there...it bounced around, didn't seem very stable.

Thanks

Looks great on the Cherokee. I think I might add one just for the looks.
