Default New to this! Roof rack help and a few ???

Howdy guys! I just bought my first xj, its a '93 with 161,000 miles on it. It is pretty much stock minus a law enforcement style spotlight (it was a TPWD vehicle early in life). I'm turning it into a beach rig and Ive got a few questions about how to customize it.

1. I need to attach a roof rack to it but this model doesn't have anything on top, so how would I attach it to my jeep? The rack would need to support the weight of at least one human and fishing gear.

2. Is there a front bumper that has a reciver hitch and a winch hookup? I can't seem to find one online.

3. What tires are best for the sand? I'd like to hear all suggestions.

Thanks guys, I'm new at this and am very thankful that this forum exists. If this stuff has been covered before i'm sorry.

Look at b. Lee racks in the vendor section....makes them to attach to the rain gutters on your jeep. There are several front receiver bumpers and jcr makes a multi mount.winch mount that will go in the receiver.

Haha alive, I plan on using it to surf fish so I will be standing on top of the vehicle.

You can buy or make gutter mounts for the rack and it will be plenty strong enough, also a vender on this forum from L&L fab makes great bumpers with winch mounts and stingers. Can't help you with the tire question lol

1- too many to choose from, what's your budget?
2- http://www.etrailer.com/Front-Hitch/...eid=1993301172 With http://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-...rt/C31010.html
3- Most A/T tires will be ok, air down and drive correctly.

You could pick up a van ladder rack and bolt something to it (ATV ramps, 3/4 plywood?). They carry 600 pounds. Be careful that you don't throw too much weight up there, bummer to be top heavy around a corner.

Otherwise there are plenty of places to order something pretty and expensive.

A big top rack will cost a few hundred bucks. Just do a google search and see what fits your needs. B. lee on here makes some nice ones.

Most aftermarket front bumpers that sit high can have a hitch bolted to the frame underneath it and a winch on it (just make sure the design is made for a winch bolt on). I have a JCR offroad front bumper and it can do both.

Any a/t tire will do, just don't drive it like its a Baja truck. It's a Jeep.
