"more car like" and "front drive based" were all I needed to read.

Why they keep making the Liberty is beyond me. It's just soccer moms and 17 year old girls who think they look "fun" that actually buy them.

Or rental companies.

There is a Liberty following that does run them in Moab and other places.
So they're a little more complicated in the drive train than the XJ they can made into acceptable rides with lockers front and rear, and 3" lift 31" tires will fit.

This next generation is going to kill that altogether and it will be a complete wuss mobile for Soccer moms that wouldn't drive in the snow much less mud/rocks.

Say hello to the new Jeep Liberty.

ala Fiat Panda.

20 seconds to 60mph

The Fiat Strada Adventure would be better IMO.

It's like a Grand Caravan crapped out an Avalanche.

Do not want.

Default I wonder if...

I wonder if there'll be a time when we'll have to choose between buying sub-standard china-made parts or fabbing our own?

Wouldn't say that too much. Considering that's what the XJ was made for too. Anyway, what's wrong with these? Might do it to my diesel liberty some day....

Whats wrong..... It may just be me but I drive a cherokee over a wrangler or liberty because of its box like design. Long live the toaster on wheels.

But hey to each their own. Those could certainly beat my xj off road.

Having daily driven a Cj7 for over ten years I also found the "boxy" Jeep look of the XJ to be just what I was looking for when I needed to find a larger Jeep for the family. To me a Jeep shouldn't have to many rounded and aerodynamic features. Just my opinion.
