welcome to the madness. first make sure its running good, tune up fluids change ect, then armor, rock sliders skid plates the like then lift it, go with long arms from the get go. while this may seem $$ up front you save money by doing it once

This should actually be in the Introductions section. Whatever though. Welcome to CF! As for what to do first, make sure it's mechanically good and all your fluids are good. Change out/repair what's needed. After that, it all depends on what you want to run in/on - mud, rocks, trails etc. In any case, recovery points should always some first. At a minimum, front tow hooks and a hitch on the rear. You can upgrade to bumpers with shackles and a winch later. Armor (t-case skid, gas tank skid, rough stuff diff covers, etc) is always important as it keeps vital parts safe from impacts. Tires and lift should only happen when you know how high you want to go (trail rig only, or a daily driver?), where you'll be going, and what you'll be driving on. For rocks and trails, a good all terrain or mud terrain tire will work wonders. If your plan is mud, an all terrain will leave you wanting more traction.

For ideas, take a look at some of the other members' grands on here. Just pull up their profile and check their pics. Any questions you have, ask away as there's a wealth of knowledge on here.

Yea I'll proboably just be riding on mostly dirt and mud. The jeep runs great just one sway bar is snapped so I need to repair that but that a piece of cake. Other than that just a few interior flaws from the previous owner. There is though one concern I have. I'm not sure what it is but I have a guess. There is the sound of running fluid around the passenger side dashboard but there are no leaks at all. Are these just the hoses? I'm used to riding in a cherokee and these zj's are a bit different. Hopefully it isnt something big.

This will not only be my daily driver but also a somewhat conservative trail jeep. I already have a 2" or 3" lift planned for it, but I'm on a budget since I'm sinking the first bulk of my cash on getting it an oil change, new tires, and a few things here and there to help the gas mileage. this thing has a flowmaster and a cherry bomb on it so hopefully I can rig something to make it sound good without the cherry bomb. Might get some cash for that.
