new jeep gc ewwwww
The new GC seems as if Chrysler's purpose was to make a vehicle to conquer Range Rover in offroad ability, luxury, and price.
The new GCs are supposedly stellar offroad, but in more of a Range Rover way than a Rubicon way. They're considerably cheaper than Range Rovers (actually around HALF the price - 40K vs 80K), and should be considerably more reliable.
If you want a relatively cheap, spartan, no-compromises offroader, get a Wrangler. If you want a luxury SUV that will kill every other luxury SUV offroad, get a GC.
I understand that Jeep no longer makes a vehicle comparable to the XJ, and that sucks pretty bad. But really, there's not much of a market left for it outside of Cherokeeforum. Between the GC, the Wrangler, and the Patriot, they've basically covered almost everyone who would have bought Cherokees. The people who liked the size of the XJ but wanted better mileage will get Patriots. The people who bought fully optioned out Cherokees will buy GCs. The hardcore offroaders will buy Rubicons.
There are very few people like us left, for whom the XJ is the perfect blend of all worlds.

I dig it!! They never claim it is a hardcore wheeler, just a decent off-road vehicle, that is prolly an awesome overall vehicle!! I'll keep my XJ for serious off road use, but I like the new GC, and would sport the hell out of one if I could...
