new guy need advice
Hows it goin yall?
Well ill just cut to the meat and taters. The wife and i are in desperate need of a new vehicle were trying to decide between an 05 JGC Laredo with 125k miles and an 03xterra 171k miles. Itll be a daily driver with some fun in the mud mixed in. My firsr rig was an 89 JGC sport with a 4.0 IL6 and i loved that thing. But idk how the newer jeeps compare to the older ones. Whats yalls opinion?

Our 02WJ Laredo in Steel Blue is a sweet ride year round. The lap of luxury compared to my XJ, and the reliable 4.0L.
Perfect for a daily driver, gets the best mileage of our four jeeps at 27.5Hwy, 23city.
In my perspective, XTerra is land fill.

The 99 Grand Cherokee has a solid front axle, the 05 is IFS. The 4.7 will definitely have more power, but they will not take as much abuse as the 4.0 or pushrods V8 engines can handle. The V6 in the 05 is a turd. The Nissan? My cousin had one and had all sorts of issues, I don't recommend any Nissan other than the old 510 and 240Z.

I have an 2004 GC "Overland" with the 4.7HO (owned 4 yrs. now) it had been very well maintained by the prior owner and now has 204,000 mi. on it. Everything works perfect on it and it is loaded, the engine uses no oil between changes 6mo/6,000mi.
It is a pleasure to drive year around but excels in the winter snow/ice.
