Sounds like they totally tenderized the ol' ZJ for its current incarnation. My bro-in-law bought a 2011 Grand, haven't gotten a good look at it but first glance definitely looks more like a kid/grocery hauler SUV/minivan...

I love how you little boys think your POS Cherokee is the best of the best. When are y'all gonna face the fact that it was born as a stationwagon?
I've seen that pic before & I don't think it proves the GC as a sissy. It made it thru the Rubicon with relatively little body damage - pretty much stock. I'd say that's pretty darn impressive for a "minivan".

This is what happened when Four Wheeler tried one from Jeep. They were going up a hill and the t-case sheared a sprocket tooth and the chain broke. "Trail Rated" huh.

I saw one with a small lift back in April stuck in a parking lot that hadn't been plowed out from 8" of snow. Do they make em in 2wd because I couldnt even imaging getting stuck in even a stock xj in only 8" of of fresh powder not to mention a small lift and baja claws lol.

People like what they like. I don't see anything wrong with the XJ. It's a great entry vehicle into off roading and can be built to do some serious damage. Plus... I don't know if you noticed, but you're on a Cherokee forum.

Uh yeah, last time I checked I could read. I'm sure there are a lot of folks on here who have only owned 1-3 vehicles and so in their mind maybe XJ > all, is true. I've owned around 60+ and I can say, every vehicle has its pros and cons. It doesn't make something a POS, it makes it a fact of life. Calling people "little boys" and saying "POS Cherokees" is completely different than saying something has it's limitations (which all vehicles have) and to be realistic.

there are 2 ZJs in my club and at least one of us knocks that stupid rear bumper cover loose/off every time. I see they still have that problem, LOL.

-BUT-
THIS is a Station Wagon:
THIS is a Jeep:
If Jeep was building a soccer mom station wagon, they wouldn't have sacrificed ride quality and control to put straight axles under it...

They all had solid axles until very recently, so ...
empty pockets, you can carry on the argument alone. I've said my piece, I stand by it & I'm moving on.
