Default New Engine?

I found an engine with only 7500 miles on it out of a 2001 and I have a 1999 xj. Should i get the ECU also.....any differences between the years?

Yes, the the 01 has the 0331 head. They are prone to cracking.

On the head, between cylinders 3 and 4..

However I have the 0331 head on my 2000, and its still fine with 138k on it. As long as you dont overheat it, you should be fine!

Plus you dont see many engines with so few miles on them!
