Hey guys, I just upgraded my suspension with a 4" Old Man Emu, new upper & lower control arms, adj. track bar, JKS quick disconnects, OME steering stabilizer and 2015 Jeep ***** take offs. I'm in the market for some upgraded brakes but stuck on brand. Any suggestions?

 

I like Hawk brakes, had mine on for a few thousand miles and minimal dust accumulation. Cost me about $50 for a front set.

4" lift huh? What happened to the front?

 

So when I bout the kit, little did I know that when you go higher than 3", you'll need longer sway bar links. So when the mechanic installed my lift, he had to compress the front springs a little to connect the OEM sway bar + links. I actually corrected this issue today by installing JKS quick disconnects. The front went up a little. I'm thinking the rear will eventually settle.

 

But much did they charge you for the labor to install the lift?

Paid $650 for front and rear spring install, transfer case drop, upper & lower control arms, adj. track bar, steering stabilizer, sway bar, 32" tire mount and alignment. I thought it was reasonable considering I had no time or tools to do it my self.

 

Want upgraded brakes? I can't tell from your pic but have you done the rear brake disc conversion?

 

Unless you get some heavy *** sandbags in your rear, those springs have a long time to go before they settle. Probably the life of the jeep lol

 

Gonna take more than sand lol. try some gold bars. takes less space and has more style

 

They do not get any better than the "Hawk" brand of pads been using them for a long time on my race cars, excellent stopping power and very low fade on long downhill's where your ridding the brakes.


Cost a bit more but worth every penny, notice Quadratec has them listed for the XJ's also.

 

Get done all the modifications after proper guidance of the professional mechanic, so that it will affect in the running of your vehicle. Good Luck

 

That's way too much sag from just factory sway bar links. Did the guy not install something right? And get rid of that transfer case drop please. You can leave it but you will be replacing exhaust mount, trans mount, motor mounts, and your exhaust may hit your firewall. They cause more problems than they fix. Ask me how I know

 

Contact Big David here on Cherokee Forum for the parts you need to add rear disc brakes.

 

Like some others said if you haven't done the rear drum/disc conversion I would start there. Followed by the brake booster upgrade to the WJ booster. If you don't want to jy search and have the coin G2 does a good conversion kit for about $500 comes with new rotors, calipers, pads etc... You could get black magic brakes too if you have the money!

 

He already has a dual diaphragm booster.
