So.. i put this in general chat. I'm a music fanatic, have been my whole life.


In my dd honda accord coupe, i have a full system setup.

I have 2 12" Kicker Comps in a huge MDF custom box.

I had a Kicker KX400.1 powering the system for almost 8 years.

Over the last 2 weeks the amp started going into protect mode and cutting out. So I finally went out and bought a new amp.

I got a Kenwood MRP - M500 (500x1 @ 2 ohms)

With gain & bass boost at 0, this thing pound.

Cranked up the gain maybe 2 clicks and bass boost up 1 click and this thing SLAMS my system. I don't know if my Kicker amp was just dieing over the last few years, or just that technology has come a long way in 8 years, but WOW.

Great Price, HUGE power, and amazing upgrade vs my old kicker amp.

I have an older Audiobahn Intake series amp pushing two older IMPP Pioneer 10's... it's an 800 watt amp and I have it bridged. My gain is almost ALL the way off and it still murders my Pioneers. I have run Kenwood amps and they do very well. I also like specific MTX amps. A very long time ago I ran a 5 channel Kicker Impulse amp... it powered two Kicker comp 10's and two pairs of Kenwood Excelon components. I had all of this in a 1995 Nissan Sentra GXE and had a Clarion Pro Audio DXZ-715 head unit running the system. It was so very nice. Hit hard and the mids and highs were crisp... gotta love 24bit DAC and power to overcome any road noise.
