Have you tried searchtempest?

It searches all craigslists in whatever area you specify. Worth a shot

https://www.autotempest.com

searchtempest.com is what I prefer but more manual searching required (because when you search Jeep Cherokee it is guaranteed to pull up every single Grand Cherokee listing as well)

I found another one with plenty of undercarriage pics. This one is coated to but the driveshaft and everything else looks great.

Thinking that has been undercoated radically. The front diff looks like they really sprayed it. Not that anything might be wrong with it. An up close and personal look is really the only way. What year is that? Guessing '99 down. And is just me or does the rear bump stop look shorter? Here is the one thing that really jumps out at me. Pretty sure that is a CA Emissions vehicle. Not that there is anything wrong with that. My '00 is and where I live it does not need to be. Thinking a '99 down CA Emissions XJ is not as bad as an '00 or '01 though. But if you don't need your XJ to be CA Emissions I would shoot for a Federal one. That is just nick picking. I wish my '00 was. It might be someday. Wink wink.

Wow Man! Good eye! It is a 99. How can you tell? Did they change something in 2000?
I traded my 1993 back in 1998. I hate the newer interior and airbag. A friend told me this looks like it was undercoated yearly for rust prevention. There's no overspray the driveshaft isn't rusted to hell like the other one either. I ran both reports on this one too and it has a nice regular service history and 2 warranty repairs at the dealer. It was also maintenances at a dealer. This doesn't look like it was sprayed thick either. I don't expect the car to be perfect but it's going to be an everyday driver for now so that's a concern.

Cause '00's and '01's have a front cat and a back cat if they are CA Emissions. The front is a dual cat setup. The back cat connects to the muffler with a flange instead of just a straight pipe and a clamp. The shot I am showing you I can also tell this is a '00, even though it does say that where I got this from, but also that it is a Federal Emissions one. Cause of the O2 sensor in the cat in that shot. In CA Emissions ones there is very similar cat but no O2 sensor there. There are 4 but they are all more up front. '00's can be either just like '99 and down. '01's to the best of my knowledge are all CA Emissions. Speaking of which I think your Jeep is missing a clamp at the cat and front of the muffler. Probably fused together though and will never come apart. LOL. Oh and in that shot I posted somebody hacked the muffler somehow. The flange in the muffler in an '00 and '01 does not have a clamp there. It is all one piece. Somebody sawed something.

You can tell the red one is a 99 by looking at the engine, it has the bigger 99+ intake manifold and it still has a distributor, in 00 they switched to coil on plug.

That's great info. I'd love a 93 or 94. I prefer the interior with no airbags. What do you think of the coil vs the distributor?
Hows the red one look to you underneath?

I much prefer the distributor, easier to diagnose and work on and cheaper, also the ones with the coil on plug are the 331 head that is prone to cracking. The red one looks good underneath, way better than what I normally see around here.

Thanks.
The first warranty repair on my 1993 XJ was for the rotor on the distributor. Damn thing cut out on me while I was in line for an inspection. (Back when we had inspections).
