Hey guys I have a 99 sport trying to decide what to paint my trim. I am thinking about painting black like a sport or all the same color like a classic or limited. What do you guys think I should do?

I've always liked the offset that black gives, especially when it'll stand out against a color like yours. I bought some stuff called trim paint from autozone. It's just a spray, but it's held up pretty well, even to power washing it with the sprayer about 2 inches from it. Just tape off the doors/bumpers, sand the trim with something like a 800 grit, clean it up, and then spray away.

Here's a free Photo editing program. (http://www.gimp.org/ ) Works just like Adobe's Photoshop. Paint the sides gloss black. Paint the bumper, fender flairs, And side molding with "herculiner". And then any aftermarket parts, Like bumpers, wider fender flairs, etc. can be heculined, and thrown on. they will match the paint scheme. Here's three photos of mine, and what it would look like.

We just bought a 99 sport and the bumpers and trim had faded to a light gray. We used a product called Forever Black that I ordered on amazon. It was easy to use and restored the trim to black. It's a dye and isn't supposed to wash off. It had good reviews.

I really like the 3rd pic with the flares still silver. That looks REALLY good. Unfortunately it only looks good with certain colors, and the 84-96 style IMO so I wouldn't do it to mine.

If its a DD that sees little or no offroading, ide go with the same color. Its gonna look alot nicer...
But if you regularly go offroad, black is more practical. You can just keep a spraycan in the back of your XJ somewhere.

Forever black doesn't work.... Use krylon fusion to paint it... Either go black because it will be hard to match or go with a different color

When I did my bike I used the krylon stuff. Make sure you clean the plastic really really really well and rough up the surface with sand paper otherwise it will peel like any other paint.

Here is my RM that I painted and put on decals...

Before

after

Keep in mind it doesn't look that pretty now after some rash... the paint does scrape off but I am surprised how durable it really is. It is also pretty fuel resistant.

Break up all that blue. Some colors look good that way but in my opinion that blue is not one of them.
