ok so i own a 93 cherokee sport and recently shelled out the rear end so since i use it as a daily driver i needed a replacement quick so i bought another dana 35 rear with 4:56 gears and a posi lock in it, BUT the issue so far is the drum brakes are bad and the guy i bought it from busted up the drum pretty bad so now one of the drums are cracked so all in all i need to replace 1 drum, brake shoes on both sides and brake cylinders on both sides and thats kind of hard seeing as the rear came off a comanche and the guy never told me the year of comanche and wont return my texts, so i need to know whether or not brakes for my cherokee can go on the comanche rear or how to type in the number i found on the differential to identify the year of the comanche....any advice will help, thanks

wow sounds like you really got screwed sorry to hear about that man. any way for a DD the d35 will be fine its only when you get into heavy offroading that you would need anything else. also those seem like some big gears i know stock is something like 3.55 is it a lifted rig with bigger then stock tires? As for finding the part number the MJ (comanche) was only built from 86' to 92' so it should be relatively easy to find

only reason I said 'reported' is so no one else goes *****ing about you posting in the wrong spot instead of just doing the right thing and hitting the little button
also, I didnt know the answer. but since a mod moved it you'll get more responses now since it's posted in the right section

If your not doing any rough trail riding and with just 31's then you will be fine with a D35. I know some guys running 36" tires on a D35 with no issues on hard trails believe it or not. They are not as bad as people claim. It's usually the user not the axle.
