Exclamation Need help

Ok I had the crankshaft position sensor go out so I replaced that and the gas tank while I was at it because it was getting weak. It ran fine in the driveway yesterday and just as well today driving over to get gas before work. Shortly after getting a half a tank is started sputtering. When I turned into a parking lot it started knocking and the check engine light came on before it stalled. After pushing it into a spot I restarted it and it idles just fine parked. When I try revving it up it will sputter. Thanks for any help

With it idling, wiggle the pigtail going into the crank sensor. If it dies or bogs, clean the terminals and use a pick to close them up for better electrical connection.

could be the fuel filter also it sounds like they are not related... could have got somethig in the tank when changing it.

i had that problem with my jeep it would run fine at idle but when i gave it a little gas it just fell on its face changed the filter and it now runs just fine.

He has a newer model where the filter is part of the fuel pump assembly. Quite different from your 90.

I'm also curious about what pump you used. I'm hoping not Airtex?
