Need Help!
We have a 1987 Jeep Cherokee pioneer Edition 4.0 ltr 4wd with 85000 miles. Last week was rear ended while driving it. Damage was to back bumper, trailer hitch and exhaust system shoved forward. Body shop quoted $2200 to repair. Other insuranse apprasier is coming out next Tuesday to look at it. Been trying to research value but not having much luck. Jeep has sentimental value for husband...belong to his grandfather. He has a small lift on it, nice wheels and bigger tires. I am so afraid they are going to try to total it!! Can anyone help me??

Different Insurance companies have different policies/rules.
My friend's truck was totaled by the insurance company, $4500,
but allowed my friend to keep the truck if he took $700 less.
He took the $700 less, accepted $3800 from the insurance co,
and let me buy the truck for $700, so he got full $ for the truck.
Different story with Allstate on my Mom's car. They would
not give her no choices, and would not pay much for the repair.
I bought the parts and repaired the car for her.
