Default need backup!! plz look and suggest

Posted in tech. No real help.

What is this, do you have it, is it bad? Noticed while Changing wheels today
Its like this on all 4 sides. My jeep doesn't leak anything onto the ground. Recently noted all my powersteering fluid disappeared but that I think has been that way for a while. Feels thin and watery a litttle oily with no particular smell to it

It would appear to be brake fluid leaking down from under the hood.

Yes its not water, my brake fluid is normal level. The only thing I recently found low was powersteering. But why would it also be in the rear

Well it looks like it's coming down from the top of your bump stop, on the driver side I'm assuming? The only fluid over that area is your brake fluid reservoir. You'll find it in the back of your XJ from spray-by. When you drive, the little drips will spray back...

I could be wrong... Though it's translucent, oily, and coming down from under your brake reservoir. Your PS fluid is located at the front of your engine... So I

From what I see I would suggest taking pics of the engine compartment where the leek would be coming from.

Top off all of your fluids. Check them periodically. Whichever is losing fluid (such as PS), follow the hoses, check for leaks. If not, it's probably just oily or dirty water that got sprayed up from the road. The water will evaporate, the oil will remain.

If you do have a PS leak, it's possible water sprayed up through your steering components and left some residual PS fluid in some areas.

wash it all off and drive for a bit. It could be mag chloride (the **** they put on the roads to melt snow/make ice and nasty crap all over your windows that hinders visibility) because that stuff is kind of oily
