Sounds like a bad idea to me, my moms zj, had the rear spider gears go out but due to it having quadratrac we didn't know and kept driving on the front axle, we ended up eating the front ring and pinion gears.

yeah none of these guys have read the owners manual. you can go up to 55mph in 4hi. and since your rear axle isnt connected, you wont have to worry about the roads being dry. but out of all the kids going to this dance you can't find a ride?

two days for a hack n tap? you must be close to done by now?!?!? are you missing a driveshaft or what? I would just finish it. but on the other hand, if I had to get somewhere fast with no rear shaft, I would do it. My friend mike did it once in his '90. he snapped his rear joint and drove 1 1/2 hrs home at about 80km/hr. your call, its hard on the front though.

he never said he had one of those
just go to the junk yard and buy a rusty old plymouth superbird and tell them you had to steal it because you're getting a foot shape gas pedal installed in your hemi. prom king for sure. leave the jeep at home

Go for it wont hurt it if your at 55mph or below. Just dnt know that id do it for an extended period of time on a daily driven XJ like armymedic did. I was gonna get his old tcase since he got a new one but it wouldnt stay locked into 4hi cuz he had run it so long and hard (highway and city driving) he had to drive home from uwharrie nc in 4hi to wilmington nc not an easy task at 70-80mph on the tcase
