Default My New install x2

Ok so today i put a new (old) head unit into the jeep. Got it all installed and wokrkng!

I also had this idea of having some extra light in "cargo" area of the Cherokee...

So i was staring at my rear hatch and decided that some extra lights would looks good and be useful say when out camping etc!

So while at auto zone i picked up some lights, (white) and went to town on the project! Here are some pictures!

Testing it out...

Were roughed in...

Extra light, all the light you see inside the jeep is from the added lights, i have no dome lights right now... And there is alot more light then the pic does it justice...

And the completed set up with a switch! It is hard wired into come on anytime i flip the switch. Also i pluged the switch into a hole that was already back there... so no cutting required!

Whatca think?

Nice, I was thinking about re-wiring the dome light to come on when I open the hatch but this is a way cooler idea, I might just do this and put a push switch along the hatch liner so when I open it they'll come on. Good Job

I think I am going to try this. It looks like a pretty good idea. My dome light in the rear cargo area stays on. All the time. I had to take the light bulb out because it never turns off. I'm going to go buy some lights like this and wire them in. I'll post pics later. Great idea!

oh and that is a bit onboard air tank you could just fill it at home and be set to refill the tires at the end of the day with out even needing the compressor to refill the tank

Also before i called it a day i decided were i wanted to put my switches. 4 for now. i figure, 1 for bumper lights, 2 for roof mounted and 1 for a rear roof mounted set... If i need more, i will find another place for it.

Looks good. I like the rear lights. I might try that on mine too. Maybe some white LED portal lights (like semi-truck tail lights) that are flush-mounted so I can keep my inner panel...

Yes, the OBA looks a tad big. But if you have room why not!
