My last tank I averaged 17.62 mpg.

4.5 inch kit
32 inch tires
3.55 gears
aw4 tranny.

 

Stock with a roof rack amd 30's
15-16 MPG

I like to burn rubber and pass people, I get about 13 MPG on some stock sized bfg A/T KO's.

Maybe better now that my exhaust has been lengthened.

 

I made this thread to just keep the 99+ and look-a-like header mpg tracked inside one thread. So far it has netted me nothing! I got the typical winter gas decrease and before that the mpgs were the same

 

I have a month worth of fuel-ups on my XJ before I yanked the engine:


That mileage wasn't good enough, so I'm swapping a diesel into the engine bay

 

Well no matter what I do, I can't get above 17.5 mpg in my '98 AW4, with the 242 in full-time 4wd.
I generally don't accelerate quickly, and I drive very smoothly, but that's the most I get!

 

16.1 last tank. I admit, I have been driving faster than normal on the E-way, and it is cold out, and winter gas is upon us. It no where touches the 17.8 that I got over the summer a few times.

Gas mileage seemed much higher before my radiator was replaced and it ran hotter than 200*

 

15.3 last tank...not much to say. i swapped the IAT over from the airbox back to the manifold for the winter. Also adjusted the tire pressure to 40psi from 32psi. We will see, but the cold weather and the winter gas seems to be really effecting the MPG.

 

back into the 16s in the last tank. I feel the next change since its been a little while since the Jeep has had something changed

40psi from 32 in the 31s
IAT moved back to intake for the winter
I am going to increase my gap from the .035 to .045 gap and test.

my cap and rotor plugs and wires are new(er) and coil looks new from PO

lets run this gap through a few tanks! Since the engine on the expressway sits at 2k the added gap might help!

 

I get about 20 mpg. The best thing i did was get 16' jeep rims and BF Goodrich Long Trail tires. The shimmie in front went away and she rides like a freakin Cadillac!

 

Bad week for reporting MPG, I am working at a job site much closer to my home and am not using much gas! I love not going through gas fast!

proud of you! What are your mods and drivetrain? driving percentages on highway? This isn't a brag thread its a report of the mods vs the mpg

BTW the last fill up was 16.2 (haven't changed the gap, just the tire psi)
