Yeah...I'm slowly cutting away the hole in the scoops. If I go too fast I will weaken the structure of the surrounding part of the scoops.

No problem. And should you buy scoops, and cut holes in the hood....cover the windshield(just to be on the safe side). I didn't and now my windshield has horrible glare cause by metal shards in the winshield.

You betcha. Also, this is just me, but I really like just being in my XJ thinking how much more "beef cake" and mean it looks now. "Beef cake" is a term my friend uses instead of cool or awsome. WAY before I bought the scoops, I drew up what they would look like on my Cherokee. It's basically a drawing of things I have planned for it....some things done, some things not.

Sorry about not postin any updates
....I've been carefully making the holes in the scoops bigger bit by bit to help a little bit more. Eventually there will be a single big hole in the scoop..The temp hasnt gone above 205 very often unless I'm going up very steep hill, and it's hot outside. But on the highway, the temp stays a constant 190-195, even in heavy traffic.

hey jus my thoughts. but with the scoops backward wouldnt the airflow come over the scoop and vortice around the area behind it making it so the hot air is only sipped out?? kind of like airflow through the bed of a truck? jus my thoughts again but i think it would be better to have one forward and one backward that way the air is not only forced around and down but what remains on top is forced out as well. but hell its your rig you do what suites you haha. overall i think it looks beast.

....No, you got a point. It would interesting to see the flow of air in a wind tunnel. But they do work , so it is all good. My dad says as long as something is functional, put it on. Just don't do it for looks. Plus I wanted my XJ to be unique. Personally, I love the look. It makes it look meaner! The thing about XJ's you're never done with them, lol
A interesting fact: I'm the only XJ, or jeep for that matter, in my area with scoops of any kind, or vents, well that I've seen. But I'm sure they're out there.

I think they look good backwards, and if they're effective like you say, you can't really argue against it!! I never would have thought of doing it this way, but it looks good!!
