and yes the vents are functional not just for looks.

I would worry about the front ones bringing in rain water. (rain that runs up the hood when moving)

That setup looks like it would dramatically reduce the under hood temps, I guessing by at least 25 degrees.

lol, that's not my Jeep but I'm guessing he got them from either Lowe's or Home Depot.

yeah lil water gets in there but temp are down and thats what counts. plus i need my engine cleaned anyways its a hot mess down there.

I'm pretty sure quite a bit. But it is also determined by the placement of the vents. Certain spots have greater air flow or something.

Those look like side vents from a Semi Tractor. Used to vent the sleeper. You can see them on most Semis.

and rain water is not going to kill your engine. an old school way of cleaning the combustion chambers is to stick the hose in the intake after holding the rpms up to about 3k. cleans the crap out of the chambers and smokes out the yard

he has a write up on them the actually have a handle the opens and closes them from the inside. i was looking at the as well but was hgoin to make a cable to run them from inside
