To get the headliner out it wont take too long, I had mine out in about 10 to 15 minutes. I just did mine not too long ago and it was my first time, it was pretty easy, Just buy 2 cans of spray and give time to cure. I gave mine a day in half sense I didnt need the jeep for a few days.

That looks great and doesn't seem to hard. How awful does the inside look with no headliner though? I was considering removing mine altogether. I do live in Illinois, however, and am wondering if it get super cold inside with no overhead insulation.

Step by Step replacement
I used this website to help me with my DIY. Remember to take off the dome lights first. And though not totally necessary, it's best to have a friend on standby when you actually drop the headliner shell. It is fairly fragile. Also, have a nice (and ready) work surface prepared. I did fine with the usual size picnic table, but a little larger surface is preferred. Don't rush it, do the edges with the patience they deserve, keep the dome light holes small, and you will be fine.

also i had to cut some custom gasket sort of things to go between the headliner, speaker covers, and dome lights to make them fit snugly because i diddnt add anyfabric, i just sprayed the fiber board that was underneath the foam fabric with a can of spray paint
ps. the paint smell was bad for a few weeks, diddnt bother me much though, i drive with the windows down and diddnt smell it much, now the smell is gone though and you can ride with windows up without getting stoned

ALSO, doing my own headliner right now.
Going to use the old headliner board. What I did was take it out, clean it off with a wire brush, then went and bought a lent roller and went over it to get every spec off. I'm going to spray it with undercoating to insulate and deaden the sound, then use Rustoleum bedliner intop. Pics when finished-
