Better than my first attempt, but definitely a gorilla weld haha

Just get yourself some scrap and keep doing line after line after line, it's all in the practice. As for moving your hand, personally I do a string of lowercase, cursive "c's", but o's, zig zags, whatever will work as long as you're slow and steady about it.

So i was looking over my bracket, getting ready for the second one and noticed the first one isn't square... Guess I'm gonna get a lot of practice welding!

I've had the same welder for a while now and found that with heavier stuff like 3/16th and 1/4, using .035 wire and the machine set to max and 9 for wire speed yields the best results, heating each surface until it liquifies and then connecting them (cursive e technique). I tried using a lower wire speed but the arc holds much better with more flux, and it seems to penetrate better as well.

Yup, I went ahead and up the speed to 8 though I was told to go half (sorry guys) and it came out great!
