Default My first Jeep...Has 76k and a POLICE PCKG

I stubbled upon this b-e-a-u-ti-ful XJ while looking on craigslist. It was listed on a government auction site by my local township. I had a buddy of mine bid on it for me while I was at work and he won it!! I ended up paying $2900 for her which I didn't mind at all because I was willing to pay up to $5200...Shes a 99 with a Police package, has 76k,needs exhaust work and has a check engine light on(I'm hoping its due to the exhaust leak). I'm 20(soon to be 21) and I've wanted a Jeep since I was about 10 when my Grandpa took me for a ride in his old YJ with the doors off and the top down and now I finally have one! I've been looking for an older XJ or TJ with less then 100k and its taken me a very long time to find one this clean. I am extremely thankful and lucky that I was on craigslist at the right time that I found it,bid, and won! I will have a build thread on this baby in no time trust me . . .I plan to lift her AT LEAST 4.5" and make her a very capable off roader and a DD. I'm going to have a ton of questions when I get the ball rolling so I'm warning Yinz now lol. Thanks for looking guys and gals!!!

Nice catch! I didn't think anything of it until your post... guess my innocent mind is a little slow in that department!

Nice find, surprised they left it painted like that. Going to paint it or keep it as is?

I'm going to keep it as is for as long as the paint stands my abuse ..I haven't decided if I'm going to take the stripe off yet or not.

I would leave it as is.. it will be fun to drive it around like that plus the paint under the stripe is not faded.... and the rest of the jeep is...

You have a point there Rooster! I'm thinking about leaving the stripe but I'm unsure still...time will tell I guess. The Jeeps paint is shiny still and not that faded since it was garage kept when it wasn't in use. The letters are already off of it but the stripe is still there since they said that they tried taking it off already and it wasn't coming very easily so they said screw it and left it on. It will defiantly give it some character and I've never seen another with a stripe down both sides so I'll probably keep it
