Thanks everyone. I'll be sure to find out what Grill Guard that is.

Very much enjoying the ride! It's much different than my BMW LOL. Very nice change and love the simplicity and ruggedness. Such an awesome winter vehicle.

Here in NJ we just need another 19" to break a 200 year old record of snow. This is crazy!

These tires are pretty new so i'll look into the duratracs when the time comes.

X3 on the duratracs I'm in mn/wi and they terrorize the snow. I had no problem mowing through 3' snow drifts with them. And I only have a 2" lift as well.

what size duratracs would you recommend? Are they only good for the snow or are they suitable for pavement as well?

Great on pavement, quieter than other aggressive tread tires. The downside is they are a softer rubber so they will wear a little quicker, but not really much to be concerned about IMO.

I run 235/75/15. I put them on before my lift, but with my lift and new rims, I believe I can get the 31x10.5 on my rig without trimming or rubbing(you can get 15"s in 33x12.5 as well). Those are the only sizes they come in on a 15 inch rim size. in 16" you can get all these:
LT215/85R16E1 112Q B
LT225/75R16E1 115Q B
LT235/85R16E1 120Q B
LT245/75R16C1 108Q W
LT245/75R16E1 120Q W
LT265/75R16E1 123Q W
LT265/75R16C1 112Q W
LT285/75R16E1 126P W
LT305/70R16E2 124Q B
LT315/75R16E2 127Q B

If you're going to stay with 15" rims and stock height, the 235/75/15 are perfect. If you're gonna lift it, then it's up to you how much you lift and what you want it for. Personally I have no reason to ever need anything bigger than a 31". And I have no experience with the 16"s....

not where I bought mine, but the same price I paid per tire.

You got the np231? I could see that happening on the road if the snow isn't deep enough.

I have the np242 and don't have the best tires (all-season) and didn't have an issue in the snow a few weeks back being in Full-Time. No sliding, or anything. Stable as a rock. Only had to put it in part-time once and that was when my tire came off the rim so was basically 3-wheel drive and trying to get to the road to put the spare on.

Spoke to the previous owner about the brush guard...

He said he buys everything off of Quadratec.com. He thinks the brush guard is either a Warrior or Westin Brand. I tried looking it up online but couldn't find an exact match. I found a bunch of similar ones here http://www.quadratec.com/products/pr...t+Bumpers&c=47

The brush guard comes with grills that cover the headlights but he didn't like the look and left them off. They are in my garage. I agree and prefer it without covering the lights.

sorry to bump my old thread, however I'm looking at 16" rims.

Right now these in 16":

I definitely want the GY Duratracs.

I was looking at them in the previously provided link
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...&typ=Truck/SUV

Since my truck has a 2" lift, anyone have an idea what a good size would be? I love the aggressive look of these! Thinking LT235/85R16E1 120Q B might be appropriate?

Thanks

duratracs are nice. I've tried many all terrains though since my xj is a daily driver though and the general grabber at2's are pretty great. they hold their own offroad and are like a street tire on road. The duratracs prolly get you through a little more but the grabbers should last longer. With a 2" lift I'd say 31x10.5 should be ok. you can put 10.5's on stock rims too if you want to save cash on rims. any wider you will need offset rims prolly.
