muddy engine
Sounds like a hydro lock. You need to pull all of the plugs, and get all of the crap out of the cylinders. An complete fluid change will be in order, if the motor isn't trashed. You can break rods by hydro locking it, I hope that you didn't...

I went mudding and burried it in a mud hole.the motor shut down at near full throttle. Now my engine has water and mud in it . It wont start but will turn over only if you turn pulleys back by hand first. It turns over then stops with a klunk. Then you have to do process over to get it to turn over again. Can it be saved? If so , What do i do? Any help would be great! 1996 Jeep Cherokee with 4.0
