Default Mounting brush/grill guard

So I'll admit I'm embarrassed to ask this, but how do you mount a brush guard on an XJ? I've recently acquired one from a friend that he had on an older (late 80's I think) model ford pickup. It needs sanding and re painting, but I was going to do any moding (if necessary) before hand. Thanks in advance!!!

I would pass on using it,Its from a pickup so it won't bolt on with out a lot of work,And they offer no protection at all if you hit something hard enough they bend back and cause more damage then not having one would have.

I think if you hit something hard enough to bend back the brush guard and do a lot of damage...you'd probably have done a ton of damage anyway without a brush guard.

I went to high school with some guy who had a brush guard installed and one of his hobbies was going through grocery store lots at night and hauling --- into shopping carts. He'd send them flying across the parking lot and never damaged anything (except the carts) And this was back in the day before plastic shopping carts

Of course anyone is free to test that theory by driving into a shopping cart at 30-35mph without a brush guard to see what happens.

But as far as rigging up some random brush guard for a different car...I wouldn't

I would spray paint it black and throw it on craigslist 50 bucks or so.
