more Long arm discussion
Alright, i would love to have long arms, im shooting for a lcog set up, im at 3 inches and 33s...
I just dont even think long arms would do me any good though, i can already unseat my coils by an inch or two, and once im at that point my shocks are probly holding my back anyway...
I know about the 'seesaw effect' of the axle, how there still may be some good even with an unseated coil, but would their be any real good outcome of running long arms at this height other than ride quality, and if there isnt much gain from it then is there a way to make it work by running different coils or something??
just thought id strike up a new discussion... ive read other stuff about this, but not much about the same thing applied to my situation at 3 inches...

at only three inches, the control arm may come in contact with the body/frame when stuffed.
you wouldn't really gain any road manners as the angle of the stock short arms are still at an acceptable angle.
then you have to take into account the length of the shock at 3 inches. there really isn't much to droop.
i say minimum height to gain anything over stock is probably about 5 inches. but some opinions may differ.

then i could have pretty much a load of droop and enough up travel, but the spring would be unseated by a ton...? and i have no answer for that other than mabee different springs?

seems like a large expense for so little gain.. You would need straps to keep the coils from fallin completely out, then the bumpstops not to mention the longarm and longer shocks.. i could easily see $700+
