Missing my jeep cherokee....
Monday:
I took my cherokee into the shop to have them fix the flickering headlight problem. I get a call monday night saying that the headlights are flickering from a short in the multi-switch in the steering column. I said ok, order the part and replace it. They told me it would be done tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday:
Get a call tuesday afternoon saying they don't have a lockplate puller and will be getting one wednesday morning. The jeep will be done for sure wednesday
Wednesday:
Get another call saying they went to replace the switch and the whole steering column basically fell apart to pieces and would need a complete rebuild. I said fine, do whatever needs to be done but I need my jeep back for a trip this weekend. No worries, you can pick it up thursday morning.
Thursday:
Call the shop up to make sure the column is rebuilt and the jeep is ready to go. They told me it is taking longer than they thought it would, but it would be done by 2pm. They will call me as soon as it is finished. 4pm rolls around and I have not heard from them. So i call again, they said it would not be finished until friday. They promised to call me back before they closed to let me know when i could pick it up...never got that phone call.
Friday: (to be continued.)
Here is the worst part. The shop is owned and run by my sisters father in-law. He is basically family. I have tried to be patient and give him the benefit of the doubt, but I am really starting to get irritated. He better cut me one hell of a deal, or I am never going back there. There is no way in hell that it take 5 days for a professional shop to rebuild a steering column...
That is my rant for the evening....
