Military Tires and Wheels
Im thinking of getting Humvee wheels and recentering them myself or rather have a buddy of mine whos a welder do it. Also looking at the Goodyear MT military tire or the military Guard dogs from trail worthy fab. Anyone run them before or recentered the wheels? I dont wanna spend the money if the tires are crappy. Wheels I can get for 32 a piece and centers for 52 a piece. Tires are a bit more pricey tho.

Heavy is an understatement with those tires. 10 ply sidewalls and even with valve stems removed they look over inflated and the sidewalls won't flex. I've given away several sets back when I used to recenter the wheels because no one will buy them. If you're set on the wheels skip the 8 bolts and get either 12 or 24 bolts and get rim stiffeners because the lip is very thin and weak. For what you'll spend modifying them you'd come out cheaper buying beadlocks that have your bolt pattern or getting some DIYs. Don't use the mag run flats that come with the h1s if you plan to air down because they'll cut the inside of the tire and they weigh more than the wheel itself.

35 a wheel, 45 for a center, 5 for O ring, 30 for ring stiffener, 45+ for insert. That's 160 a wheel plus your labor. My Eatons cost me 150 shipped and I know the centers are good. Plus mine weigh a good 15 or more pounds less and came in whatever size and bolt pattern I wanted. Plus I'm not limited to 16.5" tires which are getting harder to find.

Goodyear MT/R is the only good tire from a humvee. The regular MTs don't have a good tread pattern. Anytime I had extra MT/Rs in the motorpool, I'd put them on non-armored Humvees.

Bart and Bassett both make beadlocks that are under $125 a piece on SummitRacing.com
I'd love to have a set of the 15x8 3" backspace Bassett Inertia Advantage wheels personally
