When I bought jeep the guy said it was 5" lift and PO before him put it on and he did not know what lift it was. I still do not know what lift it is but I measured it by going from center of wheel to bottom of fender. The front measured 24" I subtracted from 17.5" stock height, the back was 22.75 and I subtracted from 17". I ended up with 6.5 in front and 5.75 in rear. Does this seem right to you guys? Looking to buy shocks and do not know what size to look for.

I think to get an accurate measurement you measure from axle to unibody

Would these shocks fit http://4wheelonline.com/jeep/Product...ProductId=1345

I cannot find any measurements for how big of a lift they are for like 2-3" or 4-5"...

at least 4-5", or you'll kill the shocks. Some run 8" shocks with like 3 inches of lift. All i know is my jeep has the stock shocks and the difference with the 3" lift has killed every one of them

there really not that bad to deal with i was afraid of the same thing, what i did for mine is, well 2 of the back ones broke, so i went and ripped the carpet up in the back and took a half inch holesaw and drilled down directly ontop of the shock mounts, after then i used a airchisle and knocked those crappy welded on nuts, then i just bought new hardware and put some big washers in it and its good as new i personally think everyone should do this, much easyer when the time comes for new shocks

Very good thread on how to fix that easily, http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/s...-heavy-323809/

Seen another thread were they used wire and wrapped it around the threads of the bolt, probably the way i'll go if changing mine goes awry
