Default Wanting to put a body lift on my XJ. Will 16 inches fit 40's?

Hi guys, just wondering what size body lift i'm gonna need to fit 40's, my best friends mothers cousins dogs friend said I need like 16 inches of body lift?

I heard something about only being able to body lift these Jeeps 4 inches, can I just use blocks for the other 12? All my buddies use 1 foot plus blocks and they work just fine, i'm kinda on a budget here and don't wanna spring for a suspension lift. Somebody said something about new axle's too but this other guy ran 54" boggers on his axles under his old chevy so I should be fine I guess.

Are there any other issues i'm gonna run into with 16 inches of lift?

Thanks again.

PS:

I'm going for something like this except with a Jeep on top.

the only thing that you will run into is you will need a ladder to get in the jeep, beside that i dont see what else would mess up

u can do a 5 ft body lift. just set it on a railroad cart and pull it through the trails with a very long cable and a 10-ton winch.

first off, gotta love newbie posts lol, but yeah the body lift is a sweet idea, you need to look up the old 3 foot lift thread for more in depth info

Why just 16 inches? 32 inches will get you further than that small 16 inch lift.

I like Tural's idea as well, 5 feet is more than enough.

no...this is TOTALLY serious, since when does being unibody stop anyone from doing the biggest body lift known to man

Now you see here, for more clearence you could just ditch all the springs and shocks and just weild big old square tubing from body to axle, i mean no one takes cherokees off road anyway.

It hurt a little to say that last part
