In the market for new tires...
Well i sold the Boggers and Classic II's.. So now, im in the market for a new set of meats for the XJ. Being in TN, most all my ridin consists of trail rides, some mud, steep up/down grades and some rocks, but no actual rock crawling. I want something Bias 35" to 36", considering 90% of the time its gonna get trailered to and from, other 10% being driven to and from the trails just a few miles away. Interco is out of stock on most their tires, i keep lookin at the TSL Q78's. I like a tall skinny tire, but cant get a set till february/march. Should i wait on them, or buy something diffrent? Give some opinions here folks.

Also, the TSL (three stage lug) pattern is probably one of the best all round tread designs out there. If you ran Boggers then you would like the TSL. They have it in all kinds of types. I have ran MANY sets of the traditional TSLs. Everything from a 42 down to a 29. Also a set of Boggers and now on my second set of LTBs. I like the taller skinnier tires myself.
Like the post above, the Q78s are well worth the wait. In the goop, on rocks, trails. . . I trust em! Besides the fact they aren't the best street tire. I'd rather have performance elsewhere. I've been running them in all kinds of weather and terrain, I've get 0 horror stories that weren't my fault to begin with.

What wheels you looking at? Any idea?
Ill probably order another set of V5's.. I ordered a set of 8" V5s for the Boggers, but decided to sell the Boggers so i sold them and made my money back. Too many D-Windows and Soft 8's around here. So sense the Q78's are skinny, i want no more then a 7" wide wheel. I think the V5s look prety good.

There are plenty of rocks on Lewis Chappel, Aetna and Big Fork have a few nice ones as well. All the cove rides have there share too. You're right about Bakewell, haven't been there in prob 8 years.
I have honestly never rode Big Fork, and yea Lewis Chapel has its share of rocks, i just ment actual critical all out rock crawlin we dont really get into. Bakewell is still open and its nice sticky clay mud. I missed out on a big get together and ride through the fire break a few months ago.

I hate mud and that's one of the reasons I don't ride Bakewell anymore. I should have mine back together in a few weeks and I plan on hitting up Big Fork cause it's been a while. I'll let you know. We try to ride Lewis Chappel about once a month as well.
